Professor Huang’s research has encompassed organic electronics, plastic electronics, bioelectronics, printed electronics, energy electronics, health electronics, intelligent electronics, and flexible electronics, with particular emphasis on molecular design, device physics, and large-area manufacturing of flexible electronic systems. Through national major research programmes and international scientific collaboration, he has contributed to the development of the theoretical and engineering foundations of flexible electronics and to their application in emerging electronic systems. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Research, a flagship journal of the China Association for Science and Technology; npj Flexible Electronics, a Nature Publishing Group partner journal; and FlexMat, a Wiley partner journal. He has authored more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications and has an h-index exceeding 100. His research has received two National Natural Science Awards (Second Prize), four First Prizes of the Ministry of Education Higher Education Institution Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Natural Science), the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Science and Technology Progress, six Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Awards, three First Prizes of the Chinese Institute of Electronics Natural Science Award, and two First Prizes of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation Science and Technology Award, among other distinctions. His achievements have twice been selected among the “Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in Chinese Higher Education Institutions” and the “Top Ten Research Advances in Chinese Semiconductors”. Collectively, these contributions reflect a sustained research programme connecting materials science, electronic device engineering, and large-area manufacturing with emerging applications in flexible electronics, health technologies, and energy systems.
