Li JIA
Profile:
Elected Academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences in 2020, Professor Li Jia is a distinguished Chinese pharmacologist and toxicologist whose research has focused on drug discovery, tumour metastasis intervention, and intelligent drug development. He received his Ph.D. under the supervision of Robert F. Furchgott, recipient of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Professor Jia is an Academician of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences (ATS), Director of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Chairman of its Intelligent Drug Committee, and a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), where he served as Chair of the Drug Development Section from 2009 to 2012. He previously served as Director of the Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Tumour Metastasis Drug Intervention (2015–2021) and Director of the Fuzhou Drug Research and Development Industry Technology Innovation Center (2018–2024). He currently serves as Distinguished Professor at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University. A recipient of the National Major Talent Programme, Professor Jia has been listed among Highly Cited Researchers for ten consecutive years.

Professor Jia’s research has encompassed pharmacology, toxicology, and intelligent drug development, with particular emphasis on the molecular mechanisms underlying tumour metastasis and the design of targeted therapeutic interventions. Through research conducted in national and provincial key laboratories and international collaborative programmes, he has contributed to the study of mechanisms relevant to drug discovery and development. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Nature, Science, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, and Nature Communications, with more than 20,000 citations and an h-index of 70. His research has addressed the application of pharmacological and toxicological approaches to therapeutic development, including the investigation of tumour metastasis and the development of targeted interventions. Collectively, these contributions reflect a sustained research programme connecting fundamental pharmacology and toxicology with emerging approaches to drug discovery, intelligent drug design, precision medicine, and cancer therapeutics.
