Professor Li’s research has focused on chemical separation and purification technologies, with particular emphasis on energy-efficient distillation and continuous multi-stage counter-current fractional crystallisation, as well as the production of ultra-high-purity silicon at the 10N level. He has led more than 150 national and enterprise research and industrialisation projects, addressing the development and industrial application of high-purity chemical materials for the semiconductor industry. As first completer, he has received two National Science and Technology Progress Awards (Second Prize), ten Provincial/Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards (First Prize), one China Patent Gold Award, and one Gold Award at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. He was elected a Fellow of the China Invention Association and named a “Contemporary Inventor” in 2024, and received the title of “Beijing Advanced Worker” in April 2025 and the Zhao Yonggao Science and Technology Innovation Award in December 2025. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, holds multiple patents, and has taught courses including Chemical Design I and Chemical Design II. As a doctoral and master’s supervisor, he has contributed to the training of more than 150 postgraduate students. Through sustained research, industrial collaboration, and scientific education, Professor Li has contributed to connecting advances in chemical engineering and separation science with applications in high-purity chemical production, semiconductor materials, energy-efficient industrial processes, and technological development.
