Professor Li’s research and professional work have spanned electronics, integrated circuit technology, and the social sciences, with particular emphasis on the development of China’s early semiconductor industry. He participated in the research and development of China’s first integrated circuit chip and a series of ultra-high-speed integrated circuits, for which he received the 1978 National Science Conference Prize. During his tenure as President of CASS, he was involved in the development and reform of the Academy’s research and administrative programmes, as well as in promoting interdisciplinary research and international academic exchange. He has authored the Enrich Series on China’s Economic Reform and numerous scholarly and policy-oriented articles addressing economic reform and social development. Through his combined experience in scientific research, public administration, and academic leadership, Professor Li has contributed to the development of research and policy discussions concerning electronics, economic reform, education, and broader questions of social and economic development in China.
