Professor Qiu’s research has focused on theories of urbanisation, urban planning, sustainable urban development, ecological urban development, and urban governance, with particular attention to the theoretical and practical dimensions of China’s new-type urbanisation, green and low-carbon urban development, and integrated urban–rural development. During his tenure in public administration, he participated in the formulation and implementation of policies and initiatives concerning urban and rural development, including urban planning standards, green building, sponge-city development, and urban–rural integration. He has authored policy reports, monographs, and scholarly articles addressing urbanisation, ecological development, urban governance, and sustainable cities. Through sustained engagement in urban planning research, public administration, and policy advisory work, Professor Qiu has contributed to discussions and practices concerning sustainable urbanisation, environmental governance, resilient cities, and the development of liveable urban and rural settlements.
