Elected Academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences in 2014, Professor Jie Wang is a distinguished Chinese physician and researcher in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) whose professional work has focused on cardiovascular diseases, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, and TCM clinical practice. Born in 1956, he received his B.S. from Yunnan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, his M.S. under the supervision of Professor Li Peisheng at Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and his Ph.D. under the supervision of Academician Chen Keji at Xiyuan Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. He previously served as Party Secretary and President of Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. He is a National Famous TCM Practitioner, a Qi Huang Scholar, and Chief Scientist of the Qi Huang Project under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as Chief Research Fellow of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and an Instructor for the Inheritance of Academic Experience of National Veteran TCM Experts for the sixth and seventh batches. He is also a Capital Famous TCM Practitioner and has served as a Consultant Expert for Central Healthcare for the fourth, fifth, and sixth terms and as a member of the 12th and 13th National Committees of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. His academic and professional appointments have included Convener of the Discipline Review Group for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of the sixth and seventh sessions of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, Executive Member of the Pharmacopoeia Commission and Chairman of its TCM Professional Committee, Academic Leader of the Key Discipline of TCM Cardiology of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Director of the Key Laboratory of Cardiovascular Disease Syndrome-Combination Key Technologies of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Med
